Favorite quote: “The difference between death and taxes is death doesn’t get worse every time Congress meets.” – Will Rogers
Leasa Magnuson is a native of Colorado. She grew up in a small town in Northern Colorado and went to Aims Community College while her children were in elementary school. When she transferred to University of North Colorado with an old lady scholarship (actually referred to as the non-traditional minority scholarship) she had to get serious about carrying a full load. She received a BS Degree with an Emphasis in Accounting from the University of Northern Colorado in December of 1998.
She continued to balance work life with family life by working for Kennedy & Coe in Greeley from September to May in the tax department of their Greeley office. She earned her CPA certificate in 2003 and is now a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, serves on the finance committee and board of a couple local non-profit organizations.
After three years at Kennedy & Coe she moved to Sample & Bailey CPAs in Fort Collins. She kept the same cushy work schedule until her kids grew up and had jobs of their own and then she moved to a full time work schedule and became a supervisor and then a tax manager. In April of 2009 she left Sample & Bailey, CPAs to start her own CPA firm with Shannon Spangler and Jackie Signorelli. Shannon and Jackie soon discovered they hated tax preparation and have moved on to greener pastures in the accounting profession.
Leasa specializes in tax preparation of Partnership, LLC, S-Corporations and C-Corporations as well as individuals. She has experience with family owned businesses with a fondness for Real Estate Rentals and Property Management. She has assisted clients understand several 1031 exchanges.
